Just Awesome...

World Series racing does not come that often to these shores and August Bank Holiday weekend saw Team Accelerate racing in the Xterra event.

Three days, 400kms saw one of the least experienced and youngest of Team's representing Accelerate.

Led out by Kev Honeysett, XPD newbies, Dave Spence and Dan Halliday were joined by Caroline Bullard.

They ran, treked, rode (MTB), kayaked and canoed their way to a full course clearance and second spot, loosing only to the reigning World Champions. Now how good is that... More...

Team Accelerate continue to plan ahead and in doing so work towards their objective of racing in Europe and beyond. With the younger athletes starting to 'come through', racing in multi day events, the Team is rightly excited about the potential for the future. Planned events for beyond the Terrex, include:

- Abu Dhabi, December 2010

- WARS Explore Sweden, 2011

- Open C2C, 2011

- WARC Tasmania, 2011

Team training is already in planning and it looks as though 2011 is going to be a busy time for all.

XPD Racing

Team Goes 'Bionic'...

Team Accelerate has confirmed that they will be shifting their focus away from the UK scene to the rest of Europe and XPD racing. In addition the Team will be employing the services of the Sheffield Hallam University based company, Podium Performance to help ensure the right blend of skill, fitness and Teamship for the Team going forward.

2010 is seen as a year of transition for the Team as all the squad members come to terms with the demands of training and racing for multi day non stop events.

We were very pleased to announce, last week, that Suunto would be supplying Team Accelerate. Further to this announcement X Socks and X Bionic are also to supply Team Accelerate. Renown for their high quality products the Team will be looking forward to using their new climate control clothing and maximising foot protection with X Socks.

Leki have also begun providing the Team with state of the art Trekking and Nordic Walking Poles and also those more suitable for In-Line Skating.
