22 year old Lucy is a research student living in Sheffield, who was originally from New Mills in the Peak District. She started orienteering with her family when she was was eight, but often found herself running faster than she could think! She went on to represent the North West as a junior and after taking up Mountain Bike Orienteering in 2009 she achieved full national representation with Great Britain as a senior mountain bike orienteer.
Fanatical about fell running, having run for Pennine Fell Runners since she was 15, Lucy has gone on to win National Honours, winning the U23 British Championship title twice.
Lucy is relatively new to adventure racing and in 2009 she completed her first XPD race, the adidas Terrex and it is these longer races that she is looking forward to racing more frequently

How did you get involved in Adventure Racing?
After coming 2nd (1st Mixed) at the Mourne Mountain Marathon in 2008, Tim Higginbottom asked if I would like to do some adventure racing with Team Inov8. I said yes and found myself at the Iroc and now here I am...
If there was one race that you 'must do', what and where is it?
The Mourne Mountains are my favourite place to race and, although only 12miles long, fell racing doesn’t get much tougher than the Mourne Peaks Race. There is no let up in the rough terrain and steep climb/descent, but if you look up there are also stunning views right out to sea!
